| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert M. "Bob" Leekley of Bloomington, |
| 4 | | who passed away on January 1, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Leekley was born on December 23, 1945; he was |
| 6 | | raised in Westport, Connecticut and moved to the Midwest to |
| 7 | | attend Carlton College; he earned his master's degree and his |
| 8 | | Ph.D. from Michigan State; he served in the United States Army; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, In 2018, Bob Leekley retired from Illinois |
| 11 | | Wesleyan University after 44 years of service, where he taught |
| 12 | | economics and statistics; he enjoyed teaching, especially the |
| 13 | | one-on-one interaction with students through senior and honors |
| 14 | | research papers, and bringing innovative technologies into the |
| 15 | | classroom; he wrote the text Allied Statistics for Business and |
| 16 | | Economics; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bob Leekley is survived by his sister, Lorna |
| 18 | | (Richard) Kaluzny; his nieces, Gretchen Kaluzny and Amy |
| 19 | | Wieczkowski; and his great-nieces, Emma and Sara; therefore, be |
| 20 | | it
