SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bobby Dean Henson, who passed away on January 23, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Henson was born in Johnsonville to Leslie and Myrtle (Wright) Henson on August 19, 1933; he attended Byron High School and the University of Illinois, where he studied business; he married Doris Oehl on June 19, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Henson moved to the Streator area in 1966; he worked for Joyce Beverage (7UP) from 1953 to 1994 in various capacities, including truck driver, routes sales, distributor, and district manager; he started in the Rockford area and also managed offices in Streator, Bloomington, and Ottawa through the years; he later worked for the Turner Bus Company, driving a bus for Woodland School from 1995 to 2010; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Henson was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, where he volunteered as an usher for many years; most recently, he belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church in Streator; he was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a 3rd Degree member of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790; he also served on the Woodland High School Board of Education for several years; he loved golfing and fishing and enjoyed football and NASCAR; he was a loyal family man who loved spending time with his large family; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Henson was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; his son, David Henson; his sisters, Delores Hanesford and Mary Lou Wiltfang; his brother, Ronald Henson; and his daughter-in-law, Judith Henson; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Henson is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Mike) Cherveny, Linda (Kevin) Wargo, and Carol (Steve) Johnston; his sons, Richard (Sue), Dennis (Janice), Daniel (Sue), Terry (Sue), Larry (Colleen), Tim (Diana), and Mike (Billie Jo) Henson; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Roger Henson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bobby Dean Henson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bobby Henson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
