| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Rupert R. "Pete" Campos of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 15, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Pete Campos was born in Moline to Nieves and |
| 6 | | Consuelo (Soto) Campos on June 23, 1929 and raised by his |
| 7 | | mother and stepfather, Raymond Campos; he married Sarah Castel |
| 8 | | in Davenport, Iowa on November 6, 1954; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Pete Campos retired from the Rock Island Arsenal; |
| 10 | | he previously worked at International Harvester and Colt |
| 11 | | Industries; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Pete Campos was a member of Sacred Heart Church |
| 13 | | and Catholic Order of Foresters Sacred Heart Court 1691; he was |
| 14 | | a charter member of VFW Post 8890 in East Moline; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Pete Campos was preceded in death by his daughter, |
| 16 | | Cynthia; his sisters, Esther Villarreal, Sally Perez, and Mary |
| 17 | | Ellen Campos; and his brothers, Raymond, Ricky, and Rudy |
| 18 | | Campos; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Pete Campos is survived by his wife, Sarah; his |
| 20 | | sons, Rupert, Steve, Tom (Adrienne), Mark (Carolyn), and David |
