SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Geraldine Harps, who passed away on 
4February 13, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was born in Chicago to Walter and 
6Mattie L. Jones on January 14, 1952; she attended Goodrich 
7Elementary and Richard T. Crane High School; she graduated from 
8St.
Mary Catholic High School in Chicago and married Robert F. 
9Harps on July 7, 2007; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps worked in the medical field and 
11served others her entire life; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was a devoted and active member of 
13the Living Word Christian Center and the New Life
Covenant 
14Church; she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, 
15aunt, and dear friend; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was preceded in death by her 
17parents; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps is survived by her children, 
19Melisa (Marshall), Willie III (Brunlida), and Mattie; her

20sisters, Nadine (Johnny) and Patricia (Samuel); her brothers,

1Walter (Gloria) and Solomon (Angela); her
grandchildren, 
2Jalessa, Jasmine, Jernell, Ryishie, Renisha, Willie IV, 
3Rayven, Taniah, and Marissa (Elijah);
13 great-grandchildren; 
4and numerous relatives and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Geraldine Harps and extend our sincere condolences to her 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to  the family of  Geraldine Harps as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
