| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Everett A. Manning of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 18, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Everett Manning was born in Andover to Floyd and |
| 6 | | Elizabeth (Wilburn) Manning on July 28, 1933; he married Norma |
| 7 | | DeCommer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on September 29, 1956; |
| 8 | | he proudly served in the United States Army; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Everett Manning retired from Alcoa in 1983; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Everett Manning was a member of St. Pius X |
| 11 | | Catholic Church, where he served as a lector, a lector |
| 12 | | coordinator, a eucharistic minister, a member of the choir, a |
| 13 | | liturgical life member, and a member of the parish council; he |
| 14 | | was a member of the Allouez Council 658 Knights of Columbus, |
| 15 | | the Edward J. Bader Assembly of Fourth Degree Knights of |
| 16 | | Columbus, and the Moline American Legion Post 246; he enjoyed |
| 17 | | fishing, golfing, camping, woodworking, corny jokes, and |
| 18 | | sports; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Everett Manning was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | parents; his brothers, Cleo, Leo, Bernard, and Eugene Manning; |
| 21 | | his sister, Eileen Leaf, and his granddaughter, Rachel Wiese; |
