SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Everett A. Manning of Rock Island, who
4passed away on February 18, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Everett Manning was born in Andover to Floyd and
6Elizabeth (Wilburn) Manning on July 28, 1933; he married Norma
7DeCommer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on September 29, 1956;
8he proudly served in the United States Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Everett Manning retired from Alcoa in 1983; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Everett Manning was a member of St. Pius X
11Catholic Church, where he served as a lector, a lector
12coordinator, a eucharistic minister, a member of the choir, a
13liturgical life member, and a member of the parish council; he
14was a member of the Allouez Council 658 Knights of Columbus,
15the Edward J. Bader Assembly of Fourth Degree Knights of
16Columbus, and the Moline American Legion Post 246; he enjoyed
17fishing, golfing, camping, woodworking, corny jokes, and
18sports; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Everett Manning was preceded in death by his
20parents; his brothers, Cleo, Leo, Bernard, and Eugene Manning;
21his sister, Eileen Leaf, and his granddaughter, Rachel Wiese;

2    WHEREAS, Everett Manning is survived by his wife, Norma;
3his children, Greg (Marti) Manning, Paula Maddox, Therese
4(Merle) Wiese, Shawn (Karen) Manning, and Kelan (Lori) Manning;
5his 15 grandchildren; and his 18 great-grandchildren;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Everett A. Manning and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Everett Manning as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
