SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rod "Rodsey" Roof of Normal, who passed 
4away on February 5, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rod Roof was born in Canton, Ohio  to Rob and 
6Marjorie Myers Roof on February 3, 1954; he was a star athlete 
7at Heyworth High School, where he excelled in football and 
8basketball; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rod Roof owned and operated Rod Roof Construction, 
10where he was known for his quality and craftsmanship; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Rod Roof loved golf and had three holes-in-one; he 
12enjoyed spending time with his extended golf family at the  El 
13Paso Golf Club; he also enjoyed his Schooners lunch buddies; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Rod Roof was preceded in death by his father; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Rod Roof is survived by his soulmate, Rae Anne 
17Campbell; his children, Danielle and Bretter Campbell; his 
18stepson, Derek (Danielle) Sample; his grandchildren, Emma and 
19Drake; his mother, Marjorie Roof; his  brothers, Denny (Gail) 
20and Jeff (Melody) Roof; and  several aunts, uncles, nieces, and

1nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Rod "Rodsey" Roof and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Rod Roof as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
