| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James Nelson "Jay" McCormick of Peoria, |
| 4 | | who passed away on February 26, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jay McCormick was born to R.G. and Frances |
| 6 | | McCormick; he graduated from Peoria High School and attended |
| 7 | | the University of Tulsa, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi |
| 8 | | Fraternity; he received a bachelor's degree in education from |
| 9 | | Illinois State University and a master's degree in |
| 10 | | administration from Bradley University; he married Diane |
| 11 | | Rouleau on August 15, 1964; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jay McCormick began his teaching career in Tinley |
| 13 | | Park and then returned to his alma mater, Peoria High School, |
| 14 | | where he was a guidance counselor and coach; he then worked as |
| 15 | | both an assistant principal and principal at Richwoods High |
| 16 | | School; after retiring, he had various jobs, including |
| 17 | | Friendship House interim director, Concordia Grade School |
| 18 | | principal, Peoria Chiefs ticket manager, and Madison Golf |
| 19 | | Course assistant groundskeeper; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jay McCormick was past president and an active |
| 21 | | member of the Rotary Club of Peoria North; he was a 60-year |
| 22 | | member of First Federated Church in Peoria; and
