SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of James A. "Jim" Blakely of Moline, who 
4passed away on March 5, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Blakely was born in Lebanon, Missouri to 
6George and Vica Conn Blakely on August 31, 1924; he served in 
7the United States Army during World War II; he married Mary 
8Ellen Erickson in Rock Island on May 12, 1976; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim Blakely worked as a truck driver for Johnson 
10Sheet Metal and retired in 1985 after 23 years of service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jim Blakely enjoyed fishing; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Jim Blakely was preceded in death by his parents 
13and his wife, Mary; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Blakely is survived by his great-niece, Gretta 
15Knight; his great-nephew, Frank Jacobs; his cousins, Jim and 
16Joanne King and Becky and Lowell Morgan; and his dear friend, 
17Blanche Jacobs; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
