| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph G. Salerno; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Salerno was the owner and CEO of Salerno's |
| 5 | | Rosedale and Galewood Chapels; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Salerno was active in the Bloomingdale |
| 7 | | Township community for nearly 30 years; his positive influence |
| 8 | | could be felt everywhere; he served as chairman of the Roselle |
| 9 | | Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as director of the Taste |
| 10 | | of Roselle Commission; he was active with the Bloomingdale |
| 11 | | Lions Club, the Bloomingdale Parks Foundation, and the |
| 12 | | Chicagoland Italian-American Charitable Organization (CIACO); |
| 13 | | he also regularly supported the Bloomingdale Shop With A Cop |
| 14 | | program and the D.A.R.E. program in area schools; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Salerno was first elected as a Bloomingdale |
| 16 | | Township Trustee in 2001; in 2004, CIACO honored him as its Man |
| 17 | | of the Year; in 2008, the Roselle Chamber of Commerce named its |
| 18 | | Business Person of the Year award after him in his honor; he |
| 19 | | was also a fixture of the annual Taste of Roselle event, |
| 20 | | calling bingo at the chamber's tent for nearly 20 years; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Salerno was a tremendous supporter of the |
