2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Richard "Rick" Ryckeghem of Moline, who |
4 | | passed away on March 10, 2019; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Rick Ryckeghem was born in Moline to Vernon W. and |
6 | | Catherine "Kay" (Creen) Ryckeghem on September 13, 1947; he |
7 | | served in the U.S. Navy and married Connie Allen; he later |
8 | | married Kathy L. (Maranda) Johnson in Moline on April 26, 1980; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Rick Ryckeghem retired as a police detective on |
11 | | September 8, 2000 after 32 years of service with the Moline |
12 | | Police Department; he later worked for MetroLINK Risk |
13 | | Management for over ten years; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Rick Ryckeghem was an American Softball |
15 | | Association coach for many teams in the Quad Cities from 1973 |
16 | | to 2018; he was the past president of the Illinois State Crime |
17 | | Stoppers Association and was instrumental in starting |
18 | | Scholastic Crime Stoppers in high schools throughout Illinois; |
19 | | he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family |
20 | | and friends; he was a friend and mentor to many; and
|
21 | | WHEREAS, Rick Ryckeghem was preceded in death by his |
|

1 | | parents; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Rick Ryckeghem is survived by his wife, Kathy; his |
3 | | sons, Scott (Kelly) and Todd (Deb) Ryckeghem; his daughter, |
4 | | Maranda (J.C.) Millman; his grandchildren, Tyler, Nick, Jakob, |
5 | | Ryan, Zach, Owen, Drew, Brady, Liam, Josie, Charlie, Grace, and |
6 | | Claire; his great-grandchildren, Willow, Jayce, and Asher; his |
7 | | stepgrandchildren, Alli, Kimi, and Gerad; his |
8 | | great-stepgrandchildren, Davis, Maggie, Julian, and Jarrin; |
9 | | his sisters, Tami (Tom) Cox and Janis (Terry Mooney) Rasso; his |
10 | | mother-in-law, Jackie Maranda; and his stepmother-in-law, Carm |
11 | | Shouse; therefore, be it

12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | Richard "Rick" Ryckeghem of Moline and extend our sincere |
15 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
16 | | him; and be it further
