SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roger True Logan of Moline, who passed away on March 26, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Roger Logan was born in Overton, Nebraska to John and Beatrice Casey Logan on January 21, 1927; he served in the United States Army during the Occupation of Japan and was discharged in 1946; he earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska; he married Myrt Stubblefield in June of 1949; and

WHEREAS, Roger Logan worked for the Department of the Army in many capacities; he retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1986; and

WHEREAS, Roger Logan was a lifetime member of the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and an avid Cornhusker fan; he was a member of Lodge 57 A.F.& A.M., the KAABA Shriners, and the Blackhawk Shrine Club and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Valley; he was a life member of N.A.R.F.E, a member of American Legion Post 246, and a member of the First Congregational Church, Moline; and

WHEREAS, Roger Logan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ester; and

WHEREAS, Roger Logan is survived by his wife, Myrt; his son, David (Teri) Logan; his daughter, Sharon Snow; his granddaughter, DeAna Fountain; his grandson, Jeremy (Carissa) Fountain; his great-grandchildren, Devin, Dazia, Mackenzie, Trenton, and Isaiah; his great-great-granddaughter, Amiah Allen; his sisters-in-law, Helen Brannon, Jessie O'Neil, and Betty Stubblefield; and his many nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Roger True Logan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roger Logan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
