SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Roger L. Tarala of Blue Island, who 
4passed away on April 3, 2019; and
  
 
  
5    WHEREAS, Born on March 13, 1953, Roger Tarala was formerly 
6of Dolton and South Holland; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Roger Tarala was the longtime youth coach for St. 
8Jude the Apostle, Dolton Boys Baseball, Thornridge High School, 
9and Thornton Township High School; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Roger Tarala changed the trajectory of countless 
11young men's lives; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Roger Tarala was the beloved son of the late 
13Edward and Mary (Mancuso); the former husband of Toni Lynn 
14(Bytnar); the devoted father of Sean (Donna), Joseph (Lisa), 
15Nicholas (Veronica), Sam (Ben) Bettenhausen, and Jeffrey 
16(Kerry) Tarala; the loving father figure of Stafford Owens; the 
17proud grandfather of Colin, Caden, Michael (Claire), James, 
18Christa (Ryan) Romkema, Kara, Jeffrey, Matthew, Alejandra, 
19Nico, James, Matthew, Will, Ruth, Anton, and Rosalie; the dear 
20great-grandfather of Anastasia, Augustine, and Felicity; the 
21caring brother of Marla (Curt) Malcom and Gregory Tarala; and

1the kind uncle of Antonio, Michael, Matthew, and Marc; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Roger L. Tarala and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Roger Tarala as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
