| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William A. "Bill" Uphold of East Moline, |
| 4 | | who passed away on March 30, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Uphold was born in Moline to William E. and |
| 6 | | Dorothy Burke Uphold on May 7, 1946; after graduating from |
| 7 | | United Township High School, he served in the United States |
| 8 | | Navy and was stationed on Pearl Harbor; he married Sharon Daily |
| 9 | | in East Moline on August 30, 1969; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bill Uphold worked as a press operator at John |
| 11 | | Deere Plow Planter Works and retired in 2006 after 42 years of |
| 12 | | service; he then worked at Water Works Car Wash in Moline; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bill Uphold was a member of Fellowship Temple in |
| 14 | | Silvis; he enjoyed tinkering in his garage, attending car |
| 15 | | shows, telling jokes, and writing poems; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bill Uphold was preceded in death by his parents |
| 17 | | and his sister, Mary Clare Depover; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bill Uphold is survived by his wife of nearly 50 |
| 19 | | years, Sharon; his daughter, Amy (Joe) Smith; his son, William |
| 20 | | (Michelle) Uphold; his sister, Patty Douglas; his |
