SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Helen A. Boylan of Bloomington, who
4passed away on April 11, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Helen Boylan was born in Bloomington to James and
6Josephine Hayes Gould on June 29, 1936; she attended a one-room
7schoolhouse in Merna, where her sister was her teacher; she
8received her bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State
9Normal University; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Helen Boylan worked as a special education teacher
11in Lombard and later in Towanda; she then stayed home to raise
12her children and help her husband at the family business in
13Bloomington, Boylan's Candy; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Helen Boylan enjoyed playing bridge, reading,
15bird watching, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles; she
16was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Helen Boylan was preceded in death by her husband,
18James; her daughter, Teresa Boylan; two brothers; and three
19sisters; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Helen Boylan is survived by her daughters,

1Elizabeth (Terry) Longman, Janet (Eric) Mueller, and Karen
2(Leon) Chism; her sons, Daniel (Jane) Boylan, Patrick Boylan,
3and Mark (Nancy) Boylan; her grandchildren, Paula and Margaret
4Longman, Breanna, Mitchell, and Gavin Boylan, John and Anna
5Mueller, Katherine and Kelly Chism, and William and Katherine
6Boylan; and her great-granddaughter, Josephine Longman;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Helen A. Boylan and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Helen Boylan as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
