SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Emil L. Mesich of Rock Island, who passed 
4away on April 20, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Emil Mesich was born in Jezerana, Croatia to Louis 
6and Antonia Holjevac Mesich on September 1, 1922; he served in 
7the United States Army during World War II; he married Evelyn 
8Ewig in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 22, 1948; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Emil Mesich worked as the plant equipment designer  
10for International Harvester, Farmall Works, Rock Island; he 
11retired on August 29, 1975 after 33 years of service; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Emil Mesich was a member of St. Pius X Catholic 
13Church and the Allouez Council No. 658 Knights of Columbus, 
14Rock Island; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Emil Mesich was preceded in death by his parents; 
16his wife, Evelyn; his daughter, Vickie Mesich; and his brother, 
17George Mesich; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Emil Mesich is survived by his daughter, Deborah 
19(Michael Ballinger) Brown; his grandchildren, Shawn (Lanie) 
20Brown, Autumn (Dan Leach) Brown, and Eric (Angie) Brown; and

3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Emil L. Mesich and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Emil Mesich as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
