| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Benjamin F. "Ben" Truby of Waukegan, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 6, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ben Truby was born on January 16, 1922; he served |
| 6 | | in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific |
| 7 | | aboard the destroyer escort USS Burden R. Hastings; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ben Truby was employed at Houdaille Hershey, |
| 9 | | Johnson Motors, and Outboard Marine; he retired from AMCO |
| 10 | | tools; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ben Truby was a former member of St. Paul's |
| 12 | | Lutheran Church in Waukegan; he enjoyed gardening, wood |
| 13 | | working, bird watching, and card playing; he logged many miles |
| 14 | | walking in the Lake County Forest Preserves and in his |
| 15 | | neighborhood; he especially enjoyed fishing for perch on |
| 16 | | Waukegan's North Pier; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ben Truby was preceded in death by his wife of 51 |
| 18 | | years, LaVerne; his parents; and six siblings; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ben Truby is survived by his sons, Trent (Susan), |
| 20 | | Todd, and Thomas (Carol); two granddaughters; four |
