| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard L. Paulsen of Moline, who passed |
| 4 | | away on May 1, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Paulsen was born in Davenport, Iowa to |
| 6 | | Clifford and Hertha Paulsen on February 23, 1935; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Rock Island High School in 1953; he attended Augustana |
| 8 | | College; he served in the United States Army and the Army |
| 9 | | Reserves; he married Sieglinde Wegehaupt at Immanuel Lutheran |
| 10 | | Church in Rock Island on May 18, 1957; he was confirmed into |
| 11 | | the Lutheran faith in 1960; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Richard Paulsen went to work with his father at |
| 13 | | Paulsen Electric Co. in 1955; he started as a truck driver; he |
| 14 | | then completed an electrical apprenticeship, worked as a |
| 15 | | journeyman electrician, an estimator, and vice president; |
| 16 | | after his father's death, he became president of the company in |
| 17 | | 1981; after closing his business in 1994, he worked for Moline |
| 18 | | Electrical Supply Company, a division of Springfield Electric; |
| 19 | | he retired in 1999; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Richard Paulsen was a member of the International |
| 21 | | Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Quad Cities Chapter |
| 22 | | of the National Electrical Contractors Association; he served |
