SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Elbert Ford, who passed away on
4May 18, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Ford was born in Creal Springs to William
6E. and Sylvia L. Ford on April 26, 1934; after attending
7Southern Illinois University, he moved to Elgin, where he
8continued his education; his first marriage resulted in the
9birth of his four children; in 1969, he married Jennifer
10Fraley; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Ford began his career at the Elgin Mental
12Health Center, where he worked as an administrator for many
13years until his retirement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Ford enjoyed traveling, mostly road
15trips; his many adventures with family members resulted in
16everlasting memories; his last long road trip was a 5,400 mile
17trek that included Las Vegas, Southern California, Jackson
18Hole, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park; he enjoyed his
19many trips to Las Vegas and participating in events at the
20World Series of Poker; he was proud of his family and was a
21devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he will be remembered
22for his sense of humor; and

1    WHEREAS, Richard Ford was preceded in death by his parents
2and his grandson, David Tanner; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Richard Ford is survived by his wife, Jennifer;
4his daughters, Pamela Sue (James) Tanner and Patricia Ann
5(Larry) Thiede; his sons, Michael Richard (Laura) Ford and
6Robert Alan (Debra) Ford; his grandchildren, Courtney Patricia
7Tanner, Taylor Sage Ford, and Sarah Ann Ford; his brother,
8Jerry (Carolyn) Ford; his nephew, Matthew Ford; his niece,
9Julie (Bert) Bruyn; and his grandnephews, Chase and Noah Bruyn;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Richard Elbert Ford and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Richard Ford as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
