SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Gerald "Jerry" Bear, who passed away on 
4May 17, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Bear was a visionary with an entrepreneurial 
6spirit who opened McDonald's restaurants in the early days of 
7the franchise; when he saw a need for Jewish education, he 
8founded the Bear Family Hebrew School; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Although work and philanthropy were important, 
10Jerry Bear's life revolved around his love for his family; and
  
 

  
11    WHEREAS, Jerry Bear was the beloved husband of 59 years of 
12Marcelle, the loving father of Marc (Akvile), Brian (Andrea), 
13David, and Kevin Bear, and the cherished grandfather of 
14Benjamin, Joshua, Nicole, Lauren, Adam, Emily, and Olivia; 
15therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
18Gerald "Jerry" Bear and extend our sincere condolences to his 
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
