| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James "Jim" "Cuz" Coussens, formerly of |
| 4 | | East Moline, who passed away on May 17, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Coussens was born in a farm house near |
| 6 | | Woonsocket, South Dakota to Alfred and Eva (Wingert) Coussens |
| 7 | | on March 19, 1930; he attended Coal Town Grade School, Rock |
| 8 | | Island District 47, and graduated from Moline High School in |
| 9 | | 1948; he served in the United States Army for two years, 18 |
| 10 | | months with the 82nd Airborne Division; he married Violet |
| 11 | | Larson on May 17, 1952; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jim Coussens worked as a Lineman, Splicer's |
| 13 | | Helper, Installer Repairman, Central Office Tech, and Toll Tech |
| 14 | | for Illinois Bell; he retired in 1988; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jim Coussens was a member of the Moline American |
| 16 | | Legion, the Telephone Pioneers, and St. Anne Church, East |
| 17 | | Moline; he enjoyed traveling, fishing, growing tomatoes, 1950s |
| 18 | | music, and his computer; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jim Coussens was preceded in death by his parents |
| 20 | | and his brother, Wallace Coussens; and
