SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Barbara Ann Smith of Gurnee, who passed 
4away on May 15, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Smith was born in Waukegan to Kenneth and 
6Mildred M. (Helquist) Smith on October 21, 1945; she graduated 
7from Warren High School in 1963; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Barbara Smith worked at the Great Lakes Naval Base 
9for over 45 years; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Barbara Smith loved car racing, especially Nascar 
11and Sprint; she was an avid sports fan and loved the Blackhawks 
12and the Cubs; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Barbara Smith was preceded in death by her parents 
14and her aunt, Violet; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Barbara Smith is survived by her children, Dawn 
16Keefer (Paul Bishop), William "Billy" Trusky (Sandy Zons), 
17Brian Trusky, Barry (Shana) Trusky, and Denise (Deacon Jeremy) 
18Carter; her grandchildren, Jerry, Heather, Stephanie, Joey, 
19Kyle, Michael, Katie, Matthew, Meghann, Morgan, Maddie, Josh, 
20and one due in September; and her brother, Bruce (Linda) Smith;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Barbara Ann Smith and extend our sincere condolences to her 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Barbara Smith as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
