SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Mark Sides Sr. of Colona, who passed away 
4on May 29, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Sides was born in Moline to Ollis and Norma 
6Davis Sides on July 4, 1964; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps 
7and married Michelle Reddig in Jamaica on August 11, 2001; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Sides worked as a supervisor at IBP for 
9several years; he later worked as a car salesman before 
10becoming a partner in ownership and management of a computer 
11repair and sales shop; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Mark Sides was active with American Legion Post 
131233 in Colona and was a fierce advocate for all veterans;  he 
14served as Past Commander of the Honor Guard and was the 
15Department of Illinois Public Relations Chairman and the 15th 
16District Commander; he enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, and 
17spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Mark Sides was preceded in death by his parents; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, Mark Sides is survived by his wife, Michelle; his 
2children, Mark (Kristina) Sides Jr., Michael Sides, Amy (Marc) 
3Demers, Ricki Sides, Zackary Prescott, and Jeremy Prescott; 12 
4grandchildren; and his siblings, Carol (Bill) Goings and Gary 
5(Lisa) Sides; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Mark Sides Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to  the family of  Mark Sides as an expression of our 
13deepest sympathy.
