2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of William Bliss "Bill" Brown of Joliet, who |
4 | | passed away on April 29, 2019; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Brown was born in Joliet to Pliny Bliss and |
6 | | Ruth (Scully) Brown on October 25, 1927; he graduated from |
7 | | Farragut Elementary School and Joliet Township High School; he |
8 | | received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from |
9 | | the University of Illinois and served in the United States Army |
10 | | Air Force during World War II from 1946 to 1948; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Brown worked as an engineer in the roofing |
12 | | and construction industries; after he retired, he operated B&B |
13 | | Exterminators; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Bill Brown was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking |
15 | | care of his yard; he and his wife, Betty, took many trips to Au |
16 | | Train Township, Michigan and passed their love of the Upper |
17 | | Peninsula on to their children and grandchildren; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Bill Brown was preceded in death by his wife, |
19 | | Elizabeth Jane "Betty" (Fitzgerald) Brown; his son, Michael |
20 | | Brown; his parents; his sister, Ruth Ellis; and his wife's |
21 | | siblings, Mary Lu (Arthur) Silk, William (Marietta) |

6 | | Honiotes, Maira (Ryan) Dunphy, Elizabeth (Joshua) Lim, Keenan |
7 | | Whitmer, Casey (Camille Green) Whitmer, Conor Whitmer, Bridget |

16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | William Bliss "Bill" Brown and extend our sincere condolences |
18 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be |
19 | | it further
