SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Harland C. McLaughlin of East Moline, who 
4passed away on June 29, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Harland McLaughlin was born in Jasper County, Iowa 
6to Harland C. and Jewel E. Jones McLaughlin on February 22, 
71921; he served in the United States Army Air Force during 
8World War II; he married Naomi Oakberg; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Harland McLaughlin had several careers, including 
10farming and missionary work; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Harland McLaughlin was preceded in death by his 
12parents; his wife, Naomi; and his brother, Robert (Arlene) 
13McLaughlin; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Harland McLaughlin is survived by his sister, 
15Elsie Glass; and several nieces and nephews, including Kathi 
16(Glenn) Ruud and Mark McLaughlin; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Harland C. McLaughlin and extend our sincere condolences to his 
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
