SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of John R. Hunt of Silvis, who passed away 
4on June 22, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Hunt was born in Rock Island to Frank and 
6Marie DeVacht Hunt on September 16, 1929; he served in the U.S. 
7Army during the Korean War and married Marcella Degraer at St. 
8Mary's Catholic Church in  East Moline on April 24, 1954; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, John Hunt retired from the Moline Consumers 
10Company in 1994 after 39 years of service; he served with the 
11Silvis Fire Department, retiring in September of 1995 as the 
12assistant fire chief; he was alderman for the Silvis First Ward 
13from 1997 to 2001; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, John Hunt enjoyed golf and fishing; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, John Hunt was preceded in death by his parents; 
16his  wife, Marcella; and his son, David Hunt; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, John Hunt is survived by his daughter, Therese 
18Hunt; his brother-in-law, Robert (Mildred) Degraer; his nieces 
19and nephews, Rob (Mary) Degraer,  Michelle (Bill) LaVoy, and 
20Dan, Tom, and Cathy Maertens; and his grand-nieces and

1grand-nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4John R. Hunt and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
5friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  John Hunt as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
