SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marc Dennis Butler of Canton, formerly of Lewistown, who passed away on July 3, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Marc Butler was born in Lewistown to Homer Davis and Phyllis Lee (Ashby) Butler on December 3, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Marc Butler worked for Fulton FS in Lewistown for most of his career, where he took great care of his many faithful customers; he also worked for International Harvester and CIC in Canton and farmed for 15 years; after retirement, he helped his brother John on his farm and enjoyed woodworking; and

WHEREAS, Marc Butler was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church; he first joined the Lewistown Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. 104 and was a member of several other lodges throughout his life; he was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau; he was kind, patient, and generous and devoted to his family and many friends; and

WHEREAS, Marc Butler was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Marc Butler is survived by his wife, Judith Ann; his daughter from his first marriage to Carol Lynn Webb, Elizabeth Ellen; his brother, John (Kathy) Butler; his sisters, Pam (Gordon) Ford and Mary Ellen "Mimi" Butler; his stepsons, Cory and Jeff (Tabatha) Hart; his stepgrandchildren, Reece, Hannah, Ian, and Zoe Hart; his nieces, Jill (Jeff) Jones, Jenny (Jay) Mikan, and Gretchen (Brent) Bice; and his nephews, Jared (Jamie) and Ben (Justine) Butler; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marc Dennis Butler and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marc Butler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
