SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Shinks of 
4Waukegan, who passed away on July 2, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks graduated from North Chicago 
6High School and earned an associate's degree from the College 
7of Lake County; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks was a smart, strong, funny, and 
9feisty mother; earlier in her life, she enjoyed playing golf, 
10reading, and traveling; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks was preceded in death by her 
12husband of 18 years, Dennis; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Elizabeth Shinks is survived by her children, 
14Michael Koper, Catherine Miscenic, and Laura (Ralph) 
15Strathmann; the father of her children, Thomas Koper; and her 
16grandchildren, Ryan and Matt Miscenic and Camryn and Andrew 
17Strathmann; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Shinks and extend our sincere

1condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
2her; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
