| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Antonia "Toni" Hiroko Wiese of Waukegan, |
| 4 | | who passed away on July 6, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Toni Wiese was born in Tokyo, Japan to Yasuzo and |
| 6 | | Kin (Ito) Kawai on January 17, 1933; she married Leroy "Skip" |
| 7 | | Wiese in Tokyo in 1956, and they made their home in Waukegan; |
| 8 | | she became a proud citizen of the United States in 1962; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Toni Wiese worked as a floral designer for 7 years |
| 10 | | before purchasing Pierce Florists; she retired after 22 years |
| 11 | | and pursued her passion of painting; she excelled in her work |
| 12 | | and won many awards; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Toni Wiese was a founding member of St. Dismas |
| 14 | | Catholic Church and an active member of the Women's Club; she |
| 15 | | adored her family and looked forward to special occasions and |
| 16 | | family gatherings; she was kind and generous; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Toni Wiese is survived by her husband of 63 years, |
| 18 | | Leroy; her daughters, Carrie (James) Ware, Christina (Dennis) |
| 19 | | Heslin, Catherine (Jack) Herman, and Corrinne (Michael) Bleck; |
| 20 | | her sister, Yoshiko (Masakastu) Nakamori; her 11 |
| 21 | | grandchildren; and her extended family in the United States and |
