SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of David Renkes of Rock Island, who passed 
4away on June 29, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, David Renkes was born in Clinton, Iowa to Vernon 
6and Janette (Dykemma) Renkes on August 16, 1943; he graduated 
7from Hope College in Holland, Michigan in 1965; he worked with 
8the Job Corps and then enlisted in the Air Force, where he 
9served until 1973; he married Linda L. Chicarelli on August 29, 
101992; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, David Renkes worked for Ethan Allen/Volckmann in 
12Morrison, where he was a General Manager; he retired from Wahl 
13Clipper in Sterling; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, David Renkes loved animals; he and Linda raised 
15Afghan Hounds and participated in dog shows, establishing 
16friendships around the world; he was involved in Christian and 
17Jewish organizations, along with Linda; he was a loving and 
18caring husband, father, and grandfather; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, David Renkes was preceded in death by his parents 
20and his sister, Ellyn Wilkens; and

1    WHEREAS, David Renkes is survived by his wife, Linda; his 
2daughter, Nicci (Mark Estill); his sons, Brandon and Nathan; 
3his grandchildren; and his brother, Phillip (Maisie) Renkes; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7David Renkes and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
8friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of David Renkes as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
