| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Frank F. Van Houtte Sr. formerly of |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on February 14, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. was born in Moline to Frank |
| 6 | | and Mary Van Houtte on April 23, 1926; the oldest of eight |
| 7 | | children, he graduated from Geneseo High School in 1944; he |
| 8 | | enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS |
| 9 | | San Carlos (AVP51) Sea Plane Tender during World War II; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. worked for International |
| 11 | | Harvester for 35 years; he was a founding member of Local 1304 |
| 12 | | UAW-CIO and held membership from 1946 until his retirement in |
| 13 | | 1981; he served 20 years as shop steward; he then worked for |
| 14 | | Camera Corner in Moline for 16 years; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. was an avid amateur |
| 16 | | photographer; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. was preceded in death by his |
| 18 | | parents; his wife, Jane; his daughter, Alice; his brothers, |
| 19 | | Arthur and John; his sisters, Pat and Fran; one grandchild, |
| 20 | | Kelly; and one great-grandchild, Kevin; and
