SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jerrold Arnold "Jerry" Adamson of Moline, 
4who passed away on July 31, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Adamson was born in Oak Park to Arnold and 
6Mildred (Lundquist) Adamson on March 25, 1931; he served in the 
7U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Marjory Higbee in 
8Chicago on March 3, 1951; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jerry Adamson worked for Illinois Bell for 37 
10years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jerry Adamson was involved with the YMCA Indian 
12Guides for many years; he was also active in the Telephone 
13Pioneers, where he was a past president and earned 24 awards 
14and certificates; he was instrumental in several inventions for 
15people with disabilities, including Talking Books, Pioneer 
16Pete, and baseball for the blind; he was an avid Chicago sports 
17fan; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Jerry Adamson was preceded in death by his former 
19wife, Marjory, and his brother, Roger; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Jerry Adamson is survived by his  sons, Jeffery

1(April), Mark (Christy), and Glenn Adamson; his grandchildren, 
2James (Audrey), Patrick (Christie), Ryan (Carol), Luke, and 
3Morgan Adamson and Stacy (Bob) Meteer; his 
4great-grandchildren, Victoria, Grant, Claire, Eleanor, and 
5George; his siblings, Jim (Peg) Adamson and Kay (Gerald) 
6Rosemeyer; and his  sister-in-law, Betty Derby; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
9Jerrold Arnold "Jerry" Adamson and extend our sincere 
10condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
11him; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to  the family of  Jerry Adamson as an expression of 
14our deepest sympathy.
