| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Gail "Bob" Kleinsmith of East |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on August 15, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was born in DeWitt, Iowa to Maurice |
| 6 | | and Rose Witt on October 5, 1937; he served as a sergeant in |
| 7 | | the U.S. Army and married Patricia "Pat" Weigandt Hoffman at |
| 8 | | Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline on December 23, 1988; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was a businessman and was involved |
| 10 | | in several enterprises; he was a construction form setter and |
| 11 | | foreman before the age of 20; throughout his life, he was a |
| 12 | | cleaner and laundromat owner, manager of a water company, sign |
| 13 | | painter, home builder and land developer, used truck parts |
| 14 | | dealer, and rental property owner; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was member of the Eldridge Jaycees |
| 16 | | and Ducks Unlimited; he enjoyed dancing with Pat, fishing, |
| 17 | | camping, playing cards, and watching NASCAR; he also enjoyed |
| 18 | | watching the horse and dog races; he was very proud of having |
| 19 | | authored a book, and above all else was his love for his family |
| 20 | | and the Boston Red Sox; and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kleinsmith was preceded in death by his |
