SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Anthony Cielenski Jr. of Lockport, who passed away on August 22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, John Cielenski Jr. was born in Chicago to Jean (Partyka) and John Cielenski Sr. on May 21, 1963; he was raised in Hinsdale and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 1981; he received his bachelor's degree from the University of West Florida, where he played baseball; and

WHEREAS, John Cielenski Jr. worked as the Lockport Township Highway Commissioner; and

WHEREAS, John Cielenski Jr. was an active member of the Lockport community; he was a past president of the Lockport Boys Baseball Organization; he coached for the Lockport Junior Porters Wrestling Club and the Homer Stallions Football Program for over ten years; he also coached for the Illinois Crush Baseball Organization for four years; he will be remembered for the positive impact he made in the lives of the children he coached; and

WHEREAS, John Cielenski Jr. is survived by his wife, Sharee (Robbins); his children, Anthony, Trevor, Justine, and Dylon; his parents; his siblings, Georgia (Scott) Roeming and Lora (Stephen) Collins; his nieces and nephews, Adam (Daley) Collins, Austin (Elizabeth) Collins, Ryan Roeming, Jessica (Ben) Smith, Claudia Robbins, and Adam DeMercurio; his great-nephews, Mason Dohm, Matthew Collins, and Austin Smith; his great-niece, Alexis Smith; his father-in-law, Neil Robbins; and his brother-in-law, Doug (Angela) Robbins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Anthony Cielenski Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Cielenski Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
