SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Barbara J. Ankley of Waukegan, who passed 
4away on September 7, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley was born in Waukegan to Harold and 
6Lillian Blomstrom on June 29, 1938; she graduated from Waukegan 
7High School; she married Roger Ankley on May 17, 1958; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley was a parishoner of the Christ 
9Episcopal Church in Waukegan and a member of the Jaycees, the 
10Waukegan Yacht Club, and the Clara Cummings Book Club; she 
11enjoyed boating, traveling, the theatre, and bridge club; and
  
 
  
12    WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley was preceded in death by her 
13parents; many aunts and uncles, and a niece; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Barbara Ankley is survived by her husband, Roger; 
15her children, Roger (Heather) Ankley, Julie (Rob) Hopkins, and 
16Wendy (Dave Schlapper) O'Linn; her grandchildren, Kristin, 
17Jeffrey, Ryan, Samantha, Alexander, Allison, Kelly, Kevin, 
18Ryan, Ethan, Jonathan, and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; 
19her brother, Thomas (Marianne) Blomstrom; and many nieces and 
20nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Barbara J. Ankley and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Barbara Ankley as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
