SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Verne Richard Jamieson, formerly of East 
4Moline, who passed away on September 16, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson was born in Moline to Wallace Verne 
6and Emma (Peterson) Jamieson on May 27, 1920; he served in the 
7U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Rose Fuqua in 1942, 
8and they later divorced; in 1980, he married Dorothea Spinhirne 
9Taft; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson worked with his father and brother 
11at Jamieson Garage in Moline until 1972; he then worked for 
12John Deere; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson was a member of the American Legion 
14and the VFW; he enjoyed walking and biking; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson was preceded in death by his wife, 
16Dorothea; a grandson; his sister, Lorraine McLaughlin; and his 
17brother, Robert Jamieson; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson is survived by his children and 
19their spouses, Stephen V. and Sharon Jamieson, Michael Timothy 
20and Linda Jamieson, and Laurie and Craig Revel; nine

1grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his  sister, 
2Marilyn Ade; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Verne Richard Jamieson  and extend our sincere condolences to 
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Verne Jamieson as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
