SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" Buss of East Moline, who 
4passed away on October 9, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gene Buss was born in Blue Island to Daniel I. and 
6Ruth Hiemstra Buss on November 3, 1945; he served in the United 
7States Army from 1965 to 1966 and  married Beverly Dietrich on 
8July 14, 1968; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gene Buss was self-employed as a safety officer 
10and a consultant; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Gene Buss was a true outdoorsman; he was a 
12woodcarver and enjoyed  cast iron cooking, shooting, camping, 
13fishing, and hunting; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Gene Buss was preceded in death by his wife, 
15Beverly, and his brothers, Daniel R. and Clifford D. Buss; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Gene Buss is survived by his children, Michelle 
17(Ron) Shong, Aaron (Vicky) Buss, Brad Buss, and Dave (Sarah) 
18Buss; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his 
19mother, Ruth Buss; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Eugene "Gene" Buss and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Gene Buss as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
