| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Phillip D. "Phil" Murphy of East Moline, |
| 4 | | who passed away on October 7, 2019; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Fred |
| 6 | | and Mary (Krehel) Murphy on November 6, 1926; he served in the |
| 7 | | U.S. Navy during World War II and married Laura I. Baldwin at |
| 8 | | St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline on April 16, 1955; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was an engineer for the Rock Island |
| 10 | | and the B&O railroads; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was a member of Christ the King |
| 12 | | Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 14 | | Laura; his parents; his daughter, Laurenda Salisberry; and his |
| 15 | | brother, Donny Murphy; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Phil Murphy is survived by his sons, Lloyd (Carol) |
| 17 | | and Lyle (Lori) Murphy; his daughter, Linda Murphy; his sister, |
| 18 | | Sherry (Bob) Phelps; eight grandchildren; numerous great and |
| 19 | | great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; |
