SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Grover Gerald "Jerry" Stevens of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on October 7, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens was born in Man, West Virginia to 
6Ernest and Margaret (Brown) Stevens on May 11, 1943; he served 
7in the U.S. Army and married Linda Crawford and Beverly Delles; 
8later, he married Connie Manes on January 27, 1996; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens was a self-employed home 
10improvement contractor; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens enjoyed hunting and fishing; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens was preceded in death by his 
13parents; his wife, Connie; his ex-wife, Beverly Stevens; and 
14his brother, Joseph Stevens; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens is survived by his daughters, Cheryl 
16Piersall and Kelly (Randy) Bishop; his  sons, Charlie Stevens, 
17Robert Manes, Troy (Anna) Manes, and Craig Adams; his  
18grandsons, Shaine (Jennifer) Mier and Bryant Piersall; his  
19granddaughters, Cassidy Piersall, Lanna Manes, and Abigail 
20Manes; and many friends who were like family to him; therefore,

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Grover Gerald "Jerry" Stevens and extend our sincere 
5condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
6him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Jerry Stevens as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
