| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Mary E. Schueler, who passed away on May |
| 4 | | 29, 2019 at the age of 85; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary (Landers) Schueler was born on October 1, |
| 6 | | 1933 to Rose and Frank Landers and grew up in Hillside; she |
| 7 | | attended Proviso East High School, where she met and later |
| 8 | | married her high school sweetheart, Robert Schueler; the two |
| 9 | | often went on dates to Russell's BBQ in Elmwood Park; they were |
| 10 | | married for 68 years, and Mary was a dedicated, hard-working, |
| 11 | | stay-at-home mom and wife; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Mary Schueler's kindness was unmatched, as she |
| 13 | | always made sure everyone was happy and full of food; she was |
| 14 | | known for her infectious laugh and for making amazing |
| 15 | | chocolates and other desserts, particularly her famous "Jello |
| 16 | | cars"; she loved a good game of poker and had a green thumb for |
| 17 | | growing beautiful orchids and tomatoes; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Mary Schueler was the beloved mother of Robert Jr. |
| 19 | | and Lynda and supported their aspirations and the start of |
| 20 | | their careers by providing child care for her grandchildren, |
| 21 | | who saw her as grandmother, guardian, and teacher; she extended |
| 22 | | her care giving to other people's children, instilling in them |
