SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patsy Collison, who passed away on November 5, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Patsy Collison was born in Beardstown to Lewis and Marie Shouse Jones on April 3, 1931; she attended Beardstown High School; and

WHEREAS, Patsy Collison was a stay-at-home mother and worked at various restaurants until her children grew older; she later attended beautician school and was a hairdresser in Beardstown for many years before working for the State of Illinois; she retired in 2001 with over 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Patsy Collison was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Quincy; she enjoyed her daily visits to the Star Cafe and was a great cook, especially known for her homemade pies; her family was her pride and joy, and her happiest moments were when she would cook for her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Patsy Collison was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene, Alfred, Edward, and Hank; and

WHEREAS, Patsy Collison is survived by her children, Vickie (Dale) Ring, Guilford "Tad" Collison, and Robert (Kathy) Collison; her grandchildren, Anne (Rafe) Breedlove, Collin (Courtenay) Ring, Brian (Kirsten) Collison, Marcus (Jenny) Collison, Levi (Jenny) Collison, and Carly Collison (Scott Vreeland); 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three great-great-step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Lois and Mary Jones; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patsy Collison and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patsy Collison as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
