SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edmund Raymond "Zeke" Bratkowski of Santa
4Rosa Beach, Florida, who passed away on November 11, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Zeke Bratkowski was born in Westville to Kasmer
6and Elizabeth Kraninock Bratkowski on October 20, 1931; he
7served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft pilot and
8played college football for the University of Georgia; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Zeke Bratkowski played for 14 years in the
10National Football League as a quarterback for the Los Angeles
11Rams, the Chicago Bears, and the Green Bay Packers; he was a
12two-time Super Bowl champion and a three-time National Football
13Conference champion; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Zeke Bratkowski was inducted into the University
15of Georgia Hall of Fame, the University of Georgia Circle of
16Honor, the Florida Georgia Hall of Fame, the Green Bay Packers
17Hall of Fame, and the National Polish-American Sports Hall of
18Fame; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Zeke Bratkowski was a devoted husband, father,
20grandfather, and great-grandfather; and

1    WHEREAS, Zeke Bratkowski was preceded in death by his
2parents and his son, Stephen Bratkowski; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Zeke Bratkowski is survived by his wife, Mary
4Elizabeth Bratkowski; his son, Bob (Rebecca) Bratkowski; his
5daughter, Kathryn Bratkowski; his sister, Patricia Stitt; his
6grandchildren, Shane Bratkowski, Nicolas Bratkowski, and
7Courtney (Chip) Cowan; and his great-grandchildren, Leo,
8Violet, Parker, Charleigh, Quinn, and Paige; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Edmund Raymond "Zeke" Bratkowski and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Zeke Bratkowski as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
