| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Gene Lee Cunningham of Bloomington, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 27, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gene Cunningham was born in Bloomington to Harry |
| 6 | | and Irene Cunningham on December 6, 1937; he served in the U.S. |
| 7 | | Navy for over four years; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Gene Cunningham loved kids and built Skate N Place |
| 9 | | in Bloomington in 1973; the 42 years he spent owning and |
| 10 | | operating Skate N Place with his wife were some of the happiest |
| 11 | | times of his life; he also operated Cunningham Enterprises and |
| 12 | | Illinois Pinball, which shipped pinball parts worldwide, and |
| 13 | | built the legendary Big Bang Bar pinball machine; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Gene Cunningham was preceded in death by his |
| 15 | | parents; his daughter, Tami Lynn Pate; and his grandson, |
| 16 | | Michael Paul Miller; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Gene Cunningham is survived by his wife of 46 |
| 18 | | years, Georgianna Cunningham; his children, Kimberli and Dan |
| 19 | | Carter, Wayne David Simmons, Rich Tewell, Jeana (Russell) |
| 20 | | Ballinger, Kelli (Chris) Brown, J.R. Cunningham, and Gina Lynn |
| 21 | | Cunningham; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; |
