SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Corradetti of Joliet, who passed
4away on November 24, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Corradetti was born in Chicago Heights to
6Emedio and Dominica Corradetti; he graduated from Bloom
7Township High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World
8War II as a radio calibrator for allied ships in Okinawa; after
9his service, he received a degree in business administration
10from Illinois State University and a master's degree from
11Northwestern University; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Corradetti taught for over 42 years, first at
13Joliet Township High School and then at Joliet Junior College
14(JJC), where he taught business education and eventually became
15the business department chair; he also served as a teachers'
16union board member and union president for several years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, John Corradetti was the recipient of several JJC
18awards, including the Susan H. Wood Award; after his
19retirement, he continued to assist his colleagues by forming
20the JJC Annuitants Association; for seven years, he published
21quarterly newsletters for JJC retirees; his legacy continues
22with the John and Yola Corradetti Endowed Scholarship at Joliet

1Junior College; and
 
2    WHEREAS, John Corradetti loved the game of golf; he served
3as a caddy in high school at the Homewood Flossmoor Country
4Club, and for decades, he golfed every Sunday morning at the
5Woodruff or Inwood golf courses; he enjoyed painting,
6gardening, reading, and traveling; however, his favorite
7activity was spending time with his family; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Corradetti was a member of St. Paul the
9Apostle Catholic Church, the St. Paul Paulites, the Veterans of
10Foreign Wars, KSKJ, and The Old Timers; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Corradetti was preceded in death by his wife
12of 68 years, Yolanda "Yola" Corradetti; his sister, Livia
13Zarlengo; and his parents; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Corradetti is survived by his children, John
15(Jane) Corradetti Jr., June (Thomas) Doughty, Jean (Steven)
16Yates, and James (Mary Lee) Corradetti; his grandchildren,
17Stephanie (Dan) Manno, Stacy (Jason) Vitas, Nicole (Edward)
18Koncel, John R. (Michelle) Corradetti, Kate (Jay) Johnson, and
19Carolyn (Mark) Panici; nine great-grandchildren; and his
20brother, Raymond Corradetti; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2John Corradetti and extend our sincere condolences to his
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of John Corradetti as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
