2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Herman Stallworth Jr., who passed away on |
4 | | September 7, 2019; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth was born in Chicago to Herman |
6 | | Sr. and Mary L. Stallworth on August 8, 1956; he graduated from |
7 | | Bennett Elementary School and Harlen
High School, where he was |
8 | | valedictorian; he continued his
secondary education at the |
9 | | Illinois Institute of Technology; he married Arnese Smith on |
10 | | December 31, 1977; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth worked for various companies as |
12 | | a chemical
engineer; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth was a member of Saint James AME
|
14 | | Church, where he taught Sunday school; he was an avid bowler |
15 | | and a
member of various leagues; he was the treasurer of the |
16 | | Harry
Bentley Sunday Morning Men's League and a member of
the |
17 | | Castaway Seniors and Union Elite Bowling Leagues; he also |
18 | | enjoyed being an advocate for the AA
Association; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth was preceded in death by his |
20 | | parents; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Herman Stallworth is survived by his wife of 41 |
2 | | years, Arnese; his children,
Sherman, Michon (Brijette), and |
3 | | Ebony; his grandchildren,
Keywone, Khya, and Willow; his |
4 | | brother, Andrew (Dawn) Stallworth; his sisters, Rachael |
5 | | Carlton (Dan) and Marie Moore; his aunt, Comella Smith; his |
6 | | sisters-in-law, Marcita (Kelvin) Highsmith, Delonia
(Steven) |
7 | | Smith, Trina (the late Daryl) Matthews, and Alicia (Kyle)
|
8 | | Scroggins; his brother-in-law, William
(Michelle) Smith; and |
9 | | numerous uncles, aunts,
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; |
10 | | therefore, be it

11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
13 | | Herman Stallworth Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his |
14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
15 | | further
