| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Leo F. Williams of Coal Valley, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 22, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams was born in Sextonville, Wisconsin to |
| 6 | | Ray and Grace (Fry) Williams on March 4, 1931; he served in the |
| 7 | | U.S. Navy for four years and married Edith Beard in Buena |
| 8 | | Vista, Virginia on May 21, 1953; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams worked at the Federal Aviation |
| 10 | | Administration for over nine years before going to work at the |
| 11 | | International Harvester Farmall Plant in Rock Island, where he |
| 12 | | worked for over 17 years as an induction heat treat engineer; |
| 13 | | he ended his career after over seven years at the Rock Island |
| 14 | | Arsenal as an electronic technician; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams was a member of Boy Scout Troop #118, |
| 16 | | the Rock Island County Civil Defense, and the Civil Air Patrol; |
| 17 | | he was also an amateur radio operator for much of his life and |
| 18 | | obtained his pilot's license in 1959; he enjoyed |
| 19 | | radio-controlled model boats and spending time with his family; |
| 20 | | and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams was preceded in death by his wife, |
