SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of John S. Leithner of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on December 22, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Leithner was born in Moline to Jack and 
6Winona (Einfeldt) Leithner on November 8, 1947; he served in 
7the U.S. Navy as a Seabee in Vietnam; he married Nancy 
8Tiefenbach on January 29, 1972; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, John Leithner was employed with Illinois Bell 
10(AT&T); he retired as a lineman after 30 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, John Leithner was a member of the Telephone 
12Pioneers of America; he enjoyed watching his grandchildren's 
13baseball and softball games and fishing; he was extremely 
14patriotic and always the life of the party; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, John Leithner was preceded in death by his 
16parents; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, John Leithner is survived by his wife of 47 years, 
18Nancy; his daughters, Laura (Scott) Estes and  Linnsey Leithner 
19(Tommy Belowske); his grandchildren, Faith and Bryant Estes; 
20and his sister, Jacklyn Leithner; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3John S. Leithner and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  John Leithner as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
