2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Master Chief John Thomas Willmon Sr. of |
4 | | Staunton, who passed away on December 14, 2019; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. was born in Kansas City, Kansas |
6 | | to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Willmon on September 2, 1947; he graduated |
7 | | from Turner High School in 1964; he married Patricia Ann |
8 | | "Patty" Hartman in Raytown, Missouri; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. served in the US Navy for 32 |
10 | | years; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. was a member of the First United |
12 | | Methodist Church of Staunton, the Staunton VFW, the Staunton |
13 | | American Legion, and the National Rifle Association; his |
14 | | hobbies included baseball, coaching, woodworking, and writing; |
15 | | and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon Sr. was preceded in death by his |
17 | | parents; his brothers, Carl Willmon and Lee Willmon; and his |
18 | | sister, Winnie Mae Lee Willmon Ponder; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, MCPO Willmon is survived by his wife, Patty |
20 | | Willmon; his children, Kathreen (Russell) Willmon Bollinger, |
