SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Brett A. Blume of Glen Carbon, who passed 
4away on October 3, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Brett was born on January 27, 1964 in Kansas City, 
6Missouri, was a graduate of Triad High School, and lived in the 
7St. Louis area all his life; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Brett attended SIU-Edwardsville, earning a degree 
9in Mass Communications in 1986; he worked in the St. Louis area 
10and spent the last 17 years as a reporter for KMOX in St. 
11Louis; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Brett married Kathy (Crowe) Blume on May 19, 1990; 
13he was known for being a hard worker and for his wit; he was an 
14avid comic book collector and enjoyed reading anything Star 
15Wars or Star Trek related; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda 
17(Collins) Blume; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Brett is survived by his wife, Kathy(Crowe) Blume;  
19son, Devin Blume; father, Bruce Blume; sisters, Beth (Steve) 
20Barbour and  Becky (Wes) Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews,

1cousins; and many other close family members and friends; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

5Brett A. Blume and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

9presented to the family of Brett A. Blume as an expression of

10our deepest sympathy.
