2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of John A. Math of Rock Island, who passed |
4 | | away on January 21, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, John A. Math was born in Rock Island to Ferdinand |
6 | | and Hildagard (Just) Math on January 27, 1933; he graduated |
7 | | from St. Ambrose Academy in Davenport in 1951; he served in the |
8 | | U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Minnette M. Sweers |
9 | | in Moline on July 28, 1953; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, John A. Math worked for the Rock Island Railroad |
11 | | for 24 years; he served as president of the Rock Island |
12 | | Railroad Union for many years; he then worked at McLaughlin |
13 | | Body in Moline and retired in 1991; he also had a hobby job at a |
14 | | local car wash in Moline; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, John A. Math was a member of the Knights of |
16 | | Columbus, 4th Degree Loras Assembly in Davenport and the |
17 | | Knights of Columbus 716 Leo Council in Silvis; he loved his |
18 | | family and was proud of all their achievements; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, John A. Math was preceded in death by his parents; |
20 | | his sister-in-law, Bonnie Math; and his son-in-law, Tom |
21 | | Morrissey; and
