SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kevin G. Chapman of Urbana, who passed away on March 3, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman was born to Kenneth and Kena Jo Chapman in Lansing, Michigan on October 6, 1989; the family moved to Urbana in June of 2002, and Kevin graduated with honors from Urbana High School in 2008; he earned his bachelor's degree in zoology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and a master's degree in ecology from Utah State University; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman worked as a wildlife technician with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and as an ecologist for a number of fish and wildlife projects in Oregon and Washington; he most recently worked out of Urbana as a project biologist with Shoener Environmental Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman loved the outdoors, whether for work or fun, and embraced any opportunity to hike, camp, or have a casual fireside beer; he will be remembered for his loving and genuine spirit, his ability to have enriching, intellectual conversations, his wonderfully absurd sense of humor, and his passion for games of all kinds; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Norma Chapman; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Chapman is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Kena Jo Chapman; his brother, Kristopher Chapman; his grandparents, Kenneth and Joan Helkaa; and his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kevin G. Chapman and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kevin Chapman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
